While we really appreciate the pats on the back for the job well done ... something has been bothering my conscience since the race.
An apology to the racers that where in line for practice when I/We skipped to the front is in order.
1stly I want those reading this to know that, neither the track officials, nor did any racers, say anything to us after the fact to prompt this post... thank ya'll for that.
Regardless of what was or wasn't happening - there is no excuse for jumping to the front & we absolutely knew better.
We know we are not better than anyone else & don't want The Shelton's to be looked at for playing favorites - they had nothing to do with that decision.
To our fellow racers & The Shelton's crew - I (Chris) made that choice & ... I am sorry.
I promise, it was the last time this mistake is made.
In response to this, I think its very cool that you admit to doing it, and I for one can attest to the fact that in the thick of the shat, and the heat of the moment given the opportunity we would have all taken the same opportunity and many of us have... Its the competition in all of us that ask for 1 more pass cause we have the "perfect setup" or the "this is it pass" Everyone might not understand or get it, but it happens to everyone that is pushing the limits, and trying everything they can to run the line of enough and too much!! Your bikes are amazing!! I wasnt there, but know what it takes!!! You deserve a pat on the back!!!!

I am not saying people don't jump in line but at Gilbert if you haven't made your passes for a bike ( I had close to 15 bikes in testing through out the tnt) bikes on the first pass get to run first before others who are on there second or third pass, I noticed that when I got to test my big twin the lines for the 2nd pass was big and the line for third was huge and the first pass was empty and people look at you like you stepped on there toes but that was absolutely not the case, that's how they do it, and I am sure people saw my face a few times go right through first pass.. now, I thought I saw some bikes make more that 3 passes but couldn't be for sure , had to much on my mind lol I do know two years ago I was in a hurry to get some passes and 2 different people went and got my tnt ticket ,charlie paid me a visit and told me I could only run 3 passes on that bike and they showed I had two tickets for that bikes number which I only used 2 of the passes, but it was a simple mistake and rick had the second ticket and handed it to Charlie,, that let me know they were checking but I promise I saw the PR guys cougar run 20 passes LOL but at least I didn't have to run that bike in that class because it was broke lol by the time eliminations came around but they did put that bikes number on another bike and run it, I was top qualifier and drew the first round bye and they posted the ladder with me having the bye but they changed it 15 mins before we ran and had them in the last spot and I had to run that bike first round which concerned me because I set up for a bye and was testing gear and tire for that pass and didnt know what it was going to do and didnt have time to change but some how I made it through , things go not as planned sometimes what got me is I had a legit concern and the old guy changing the board treated me like I was a dam tard and pulled 3 or 4 excuses out his butt and everyone I talked to brushed it off. so I ran it out and delivered a spanking but any how,,sorry for the rant,,,,, Chris is one hell of a competitor and an asset to the sport , Great job you can cut in front of me anytime Dude! lol
