While we really appreciate the pats on the back for the job well done ... something has been bothering my conscience since the race.

An apology to the racers that where in line for practice when I/We skipped to the front is in order.

1stly I want those reading this to know that, neither the track officials, nor did any racers, say anything to us after the fact to prompt this post... thank ya'll for that.

Regardless of what was or wasn't happening - there is no excuse for jumping to the front & we absolutely knew better.

We know we are not better than anyone else & don't want The Shelton's to be looked at for playing favorites - they had nothing to do with that decision.

To our fellow racers & The Shelton's crew - I (Chris) made that choice & ... I am sorry.

I promise, it was the last time this mistake is made.

In response to this, I think its very cool that you admit to doing it, and I for one can attest to the fact that in the thick of the shat, and the heat of the moment given the opportunity we would have all taken the same opportunity and many of us have... Its the competition in all of us that ask for 1 more pass cause we have the "perfect setup" or the "this is it pass" Everyone might not understand or get it, but it happens to everyone that is pushing the limits, and trying everything they can to run the line of enough and too much!! Your bikes are amazing!! I wasnt there, but know what it takes!!! You deserve a pat on the back!!!!

nice job. not making this towards you but i thought thats how ps went. i sat in line at the 2010 gilbert and watched all week as some of the builders somehow never had to sit in line. they just bring the bike up there and run, hang out, then walk the next bike right pass everyone down the side and run another. happened all week and thats just how it goes at planetsand.

I am not saying people don't jump in line but at Gilbert if you haven't made your passes for a bike ( I had close to 15 bikes in testing through out the tnt) bikes on the first pass get to run first before others who are on there second or third pass, I noticed that when I got to test my big twin the lines for the 2nd pass was big and the line for third was huge and the first pass was empty and people look at you like you stepped on there toes but that was absolutely not the case, that's how they do it, and I am sure people saw my face a few times go right through first pass.. now, I thought I saw some bikes make more that 3 passes but couldn't be for sure , had to much on my mind lol

I do know two years ago I was in a hurry to get some passes and 2 different people went and got my tnt ticket ,charlie paid me a visit and told me I could only run 3 passes on that bike and they showed I had two tickets for that bikes number which I only used 2 of the passes, but it was a simple mistake and rick had the second ticket and handed it to Charlie,, that let me know they were checking smile but I promise I saw the PR guys cougar run 20 passes LOL but at least I didn't have to run that bike in that class because it was broke lol by the time eliminations came around grin but they did put that bikes number on another bike and run it, I was top qualifier and drew the first round bye and they posted the ladder with me having the bye but they changed it 15 mins before we ran and had them in the last spot and I had to run that bike first round which concerned me because I set up for a bye and was testing gear and tire for that pass and didnt know what it was going to do and didnt have time to change but some how I made it through , things go not as planned sometimes

what got me is I had a legit concern and the old guy changing the board treated me like I was a dam tard and pulled 3 or 4 excuses out his butt and everyone I talked to brushed it off. so I ran it out and delivered a spanking grin

but any how,,sorry for the rant,,,,,

Chris is one hell of a competitor and an asset to the sport , Great job smile you can cut in front of me anytime Dude! lol

I'm sorry u feel that way about the way we run our track....We haven't let anyone (that we know of) make no more passes than anyone else. My own wife and kids don't make as many passes as some of the racers. If (u) would like, I would be glad to let u help in the stageing lanes to try to police to make sure that nobody gets anymore passes than the next guy. We try to make it fair for everyone. We even spent the money on the new computer system to make sure about the bike numbers. When a bike comes to the line to be entered, it shows us how many passes he has made. Now, if someone spends the money and buys another ticket and changes there bike number, thats hard to police. I'm sorry if u think we show favortism. We will continue to do the best we can.

Sorry to Hi jack the post.

I don't know really what that is about. Mike the old guy does a great job. Every decision may not be perfect. But I know Mike is trys to be fair to everyone. He shows no favortism even to me. And thats the way it should be done.

Jeff I really didn't mean it like that , I know he was probably tired and felt like the rest of us,and had a few days of peoples complaints and he didn't show any favoritism, but I just felt he didn't really care either, and when I walked away I had a clear mind that it wasn't going to get changed back,, just how I felt, and I accepted it. I honestly think you guys do a fantastic job that's why I let it go then and raced. just trying to show that everyone has to give and take and I to apologize for my post smile

No problem.....It just bothers me if anyone thinks we show favortism at our track. It is hard to police the staging lanes with as many bikes that come threw the line. I think when someone does that, the guy that is cheating should be the guy that they throw cabbage and tomatoes at. LOL The guy at the staging lanes has a hard time keeping up with it. We punch cards to know how many passes they have. If they buy a new card and change there number, that is not the tracks fault. The other racers when they catch him, should tie him to the fence behind the starting line and spin dirt on him for an hour. LOL

No need to have any weird feelings, I told you to move up in line on the right side because you had 0-1 passes.

I also asked about 5 others to do the same, normally we have lanes marked 1 pass 2 pass etc.. Since we didnt have the lanes marked, I had the 6 bikes on the right side get in at least 1 more pass.

The common idea is each bike receives 3 passes, many bikes were on a 10th pass, so I wasnt stressing too much over the 0-1 pass bikes getting in another run.
