Rick, no disrepect meant here, but we run a 19-39 with the 4mil for the 1/8th, and it's completely done at the 1/8th mile. IMO you need a 1-4 shifting 5th and 6th, or a 1-6 to run a good 1/4 mile time and speed.

so, 115mph with 19/38 with a 6 speed.... you red lining in 6th at the line? 20 inch tire...my rear wheel is like 24"tall

I think I can get a 19/34 setup with the 24 in wheel.. guess ill try that adnd see where I end up at.

I have a bad feeling about this... does anyone make a less than 2.36 primary?

Not running yet, still working on the chassis...

We run 1/4 mile with our quad and go deep into the 120s mph wise. Most of the time we use a 17/36 with a 2.86 primary ratio and 20" tire. The biggest problem with the quad is aerodynamics. It should be a little easier in a bike frame.

Basic number crunches.

10,000 rpm
19/36 sprockets
2.86 primary
24" tire

150.03 mph!

exactly...thats what I came up with for my calculation...about 160mph.... with 2.36 gears though... Ill try it out and see how it works.... based on a guess, im sure it will trap at 150 plus MPH... probably much higher... if it stays together for a run LOL

No still pulling at the Traps.
I wasn't planning on running the 1/4 mile it just worked out that way. I went to run the 1/8th on a 1/4 mile Track. They were giving Times for the 1/4 mile so I went for it.

We have run 115mph at the 1000ft with the 19-39 gear and 20" tires in 5th. It was DEFINITELY in overrev though.

I cant wait to hear how it turns out!! I have thought about trying to get ahold of an old RZ or maybe even a Ninja 250 roller to setup my cub in. The 600 and 750cc bike class wont let us wheelers run with them (because we outrun them lol). I figure if I had a 421cc motor then they would be up a creek ha ha.

the new beefier swingarm...you can see the turbo mounted up under the seat with the pipe exiting under the rear tail. This is my learing platform... after this I will build a car tire chassis with very large motor and turbo setup. Well thats the goal...if this turns into a nigtmare ill end up with a real big motor with nitrous LOL.

Dan, here's a nifty calculator for you. I dont know off the top of my head what the difference is between the Robinson and stock trans in 6th, but this will get you an idea.

gearing calculator

When my wife went 115mph in 5th with a 19-39 gear, the motor was having to spin at 11,600. That was based on a 20.5" tall tire. That's overrev LOL. Mat Shearer told me the OOF small bore pipes will overrev to around 11,200.Of course this is based upon a stock primary gearset as well. Hope that helps, Bubba

one thing you must remember the quad tires will swell giving you more roll out and your bike tire will not so much. just my 2 cents
