Thank You to all

Planet Sand (aka) Charlie and “the chick” want to say Thank You to all of our Race Sponsors, Planet Sand Members, Racers and friends who supported the Planet Sand Drag Event.

We would like to start out by thanking CP Industries. Charlie says he will not purchase any other aftermarket cylinder besides the Cheetah, because no other manufacturer offers as much support on the phone, at the track, and dedication to the sport and business as Calvin Pollet does. Calvin not only attends the races, but supports the sport with his time and hard earned money. Thank You Calvin for producing such an awesome cylinder!

Special Thanks to Johnny Bellville (aka) “Johnny Five” As just a few of you know, the track owner pulled out on us about two weeks before the race due to personal/family problems. (If we looked a little stressed out at times, that is why) Charlie and I got a crash coarse on producing a race, and could have never done it with out Johnny’s help and experience. Not to mention the fact that he is bi-lingual as well, and already new a lot of important people in Rocky Point. Johnny was our right hand man, and helped us with anything we needed. Thanks, Johnny!

Thanks to HS Customs, Cam is another person who shows his support to the sport by attending the races and sponsoring the race with his hard earned money and time. We think that HS Customs has some of the most unique paint and frames we have ever seen. Cam is the Jessie James of ATV’s. His work speaks for itself.

K&T Performance has some of the nicest, fastest bikes you will ever see! We have lots of respect for the Muchmores, Everyone else has jockeys on their bikes, K&T rides their own bikes and if you have ever seen Rayce and Randy, they are not little boys! If K&T ever decides to put jockeys on their bikes, we all may be in trouble! Kim and his family truly are good people, if you ever get a chance to meet them, take advantage of it. Kim has always been there for us, for whatever we need, no questions asked! The only thing that I don’t like about the Muchmores, is that they have so many bikes, I can never figure out which one they are on!

Packard Racing… What can I say? What an awesome family and great group of people. Never heard them complain once, always saw smiles on their faces. Glad to have the chance to hang out with you all for a couple of days before the race. It was nice to see you all enjoy yourself in Mexico before the races started. I wish more people could have the opportunity to vacation in Mexico like we got to. Pretty cool watching the dolphins.
As for the Packard Racing bikes, what can we say but WOW! One of a kind. Your hard work and dedication to the sport really shows.

NFR - Nut Flush Racing. Craig and Rhonda Mackenzie. What another cool couple! Charlie says you are lucky man Craig, and wants to know how you got such a good looking wife! As for the Luxury Condo on wheels with the 15 remotes, plasma TV’s, and the washing machine that washes your clothes and dries them in the same machine, I am extremely disappointed that I did not find time to do a photo shoot. Craig, please get some pictures, the coach deserves to be on Planet Sand Cribs! (Shoot, forget the photos; we need video to experience the comforts that the 15 remotes provide.) Charlie says his favorite feature was the outdoor beer cooler, Stereo, and TV that slides out onto the patio. And yes, you guys are right, those lounge chairs were worth the money, I didn’t know they could be so comfy! Thanks for supporting the drags, guys! See you at the next one.

Lonestar Racing for you gracious sponsorship and making all of the chassis parts that help us go so fast.

A&S Racing - Dan and Wendy Hull for laying down the fastest ET once again. You guys are awesome people, thanks for making the trip and attending the event. Michigan is a long journey! Thanks for your sponsorship. I know you will just be faster next year; you guys make us all work harder to better the sport. Wish we could have spent more time with you, maybe this year at Glamis.

Donnie aka Nitrous Junky- you did a good job racing and you get the award for the craziest Planet Sand Member! I give you a “10” for the high dive. We won’t talk about what happened after hours, because what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico!

Sandtoyz Performance, UAE. Thank you for your sponsorship, and we hope that you will make it to next year’s event. Maybe one of these days we will make it to one of your events.

Jorge Pivac – Thank You Jorge and Nora for all of your help. We received so many Thank You’s from the out of towners for being such great hosts. You really went out of your way to show everyone around town and make sure they had a good time. We were told that in all of their years of racing, no one has ever gone out of their way like you guys did at any race. Jorge, Thank you for all of the hard work and taking over. We have not forgotten about the bubbles that you had on your fingers.

Charlie and Sherry want to say thanks to:
Paula (370Biatch!) for taking care of the kids.
Billy (Hondas R Slow) and Wes for keeping him hydrated and taking care of him while he was busy with the race. (or de-hydrating him, but those margaritas were good)
To Handicap for helping with the kids, and miscellaneous errands before the race.
To all the above for smuggling the t-shirts across the border!
To Rayce Muchmore for staying up late and helping up break into the secret beer room.
Rayce, Chuck, and Cam, for always keeping the party going and being our friends.
Craig Hammared Crew Chief, for all of those late nights working on the Ohton Bikes.
Jamie for helping with registration, and everything else.

John Safarian, glad you made it to the event. John is another guy who always goes out of his way to help us with whatever we need. Thanks for your help with the sponsorships!

MP Racing – Special Thanks to Steve, for the sponsorship! Next year, we hope to see you at the races!

Cart Trix – Thank You to Mark aka “Soup” for the Planet Sand Cart body, Your Golf Cars are first class, and your sponsorship was really appreciated!

Chris from San Tan Motorsports, for hooking us up with whatever we may need, especially that last minute stuff!

Jim’s Sand Toys – You were one of the first sponsors to join in, and the next set of tires we buy will definitely come from you.

Brooks Racing for adding $50 to the first perfect reaction time, and making awesome chassis!
The $50 went to Jorge Pivac.

Dave from Richards ATV Glendale
Kenz from Kenz Cycle Tech in Mesa
Insane Racing and Dyno Tuning
Richard, from R-ATV Warehouse
Plaza Las Glorias
Trinity Racing
Metal Tech

Thanks again to all of our sponsors, big and small. Charlie and I spent many days in Rocky Point trying to make this event happen. There is a lot of work to do behind the scenes. We invested many hours of our time prior to the event. When it came right down to it the race was very expensive. Our bills included a staff of 33 people for 3 days that consisted of: Red Cross/Ambulance, Fire Department, Police, City of Puerto Peñasco, Permits, SJJ Equipment Rentals, Water Truck & Grader Operators, Port a Johns, Electricity, Water, Timing Equipment and Light Officials, Trophies, Insurance, Wristbands, Bartenders, Security Guards, Race Officials, Announcers, Food bill for staff workers, Posters, Radio, T-shirts, Advertising, Ticket Takers, Clean Up, and Track Preparation.
Charlie and I wanted to share the expense information with you, so everyone will realize how costly these events are, and how important our sponsors are to us!

Without our sponsors we could not have had this event!

Our goal is to produce 1 ATV event per year. We have no desire to produce a little back yard event, only to see what we dedicate a large portion of our life to. “The best of the best, the key players all together at the same time, on the same track.” This race will only continue to get bigger and better, each year the winning purse will grow. This year’s event paid $1320 to win and $880 for second place, in the twin cylinder class. I can easily see this amount almost doubling by next year, with the proper notice and advertisement. We will always continue to make the race good for the racers, continuing to have 100% payback in the heads up classes. Next years event will be easier for us to produce and promote now that we have the experience. They key players have already committed, with enthusiasm for next years event. Packard has stated that he wants to build a bike just for this event; Dan Hull has asked us to do 2 events per year. I know many of you had some fears about going to Mexico, but after talking to those same people after the event they have all said that they would come back. Mexico is a blast; it can be a fun relaxing family atmosphere to some of the wildest nights out on the town. We will not produce a race unless it lives up to The Planet Sand standard, and offers not only a race, but a vacation, and good times to remember.

Sherrie, tell Charlie not everyone has jockeys. Along with the K&T crew, I also weigh 210 and rode NFR to a 3.962. As for the compliments about Ronda, tell Charlie I appreciate them and along with him, I don't know what she see's in me.

Hey NFR,
You are right, you are a big dude, your bike is one of the nicest/fastest out there! I think you need special shoes so you dont have to keep carrying around that extra shoe just to start it! I dont think a jockey could ride your bike, he could not start it! You and the Packard Team are First Class!
thanks craig and rhonda.
