Aight i got a friend whos got a girl friend with money comin out the whazoo. Anyways she just got a new WS6 and wants to race me in the 1/8th. She wants to race for 150 bucks (stupid race on her part) My bike runs 4.2's in 300ft.

What kinda front sproket should i run?

I would go for at a 17/39 and try some 20" tires... might run out of top end, but it should be an easy win anyways...

I agree with lsbanshee.

17/39 with 20's should be good for low-mid 90MPH top end. I don't know what your mods are, but it will take a pretty strong running banshee to run over 90 in the 18th.

If your motor is close to stock, I would think 60ft is where the race will be won. If she can hook, it might be hard to catch up.

Edit: I just noticed you are running 4.2's. Your bike definetyl has the ass to do it.

i was told to run 17-39 with 22" tires for the 1/8th. Would i be better off with the 20" tires if im NOT using 6th gear. I run low 4.6's in 300ft.

I run 17-39 and i use 1-5 override with 20" American racers. Dont know what my 300 times would be. I usually run mid to high 6's in 1/8th though. I run out of gear on the big end, but it just wont leave with a bigger front sproket.

How do you go about leaving the line. Do you slip the cluth, how much throttle do you use. Im just tryin to get all the info that i can get.

Yeah i definatly want to hear the results of this.... try and get some video. I had a buddy a couple of years ago that thought his GS-T Eclipse could beat me and we lined them up and that was a total ass whoopin..

I do have to slip the clutch some, but I hold it wide open. Those times were with my GRR 350. I havent had a chance to go to the strip on my new motor.

I use a 57 - 6.5 - 10s with 17- 40, this is good for 6.7s @ 97. You will need a wheelie bar set at 1/2" off the ground and leave at WOT.

don't even worry about it soooooo much ....... it won't even be a race if you had stock gears, I raced my buddy with a 5.0 mustang with 15-41 and stock tires on my 7mm for 1/4 mile and I was so far in front by the 1/8 I was letting off (to not blow my motor) and I still went across the 1/4 ahead but he was sure gaining FAST
