We are having our event at Dome Valley Raceway

in Dome Valley, Arizona

8 miles east of Yuma, Arizona (Off I-8)

The track is 89' wide with 43' Lanes, they are using the latest timing devices and lazer leveling tractors. The track is more then 1800' Long, the return road and shutdown area is nicely graded with no rocks, the track is awesome and we will see some good numbers.

We will post more information soon, including the format, directions, hotels, etc..

Where would be the closest airport to this event?

the closest airport would be the yuma airport, but i think it will stop in phx first. that said, the next closest main airport will be the phx airport.

FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THE OWNER WILL BE CLEARING OUT MORE AREA FOR SHUT DOWN AND PARKING, SO I BELIEVE THERE SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM WITH THAT.

There is plenty of shutdown,
Jeff Jano ran a 2.41 (in his top fuel car) and stopped without a chute,

there is more then 1400' of shutdown not including the track itself and if you could slightly turn at 1400-1600' you could continue for another 1/2 mile if you needed it.

I ran this track, the shut down seemed more than adequate to me. I also must add, it was the smoothest shutdown area I have ever ran on.

I was wondering there is site for the event yet? I was wanting to know the rules, classes, requirments, etc.

There will be Sportman and Pro Bracket classes along with Heads Up Racing. The heads up Racing classes will follow the Displacement breakdown that was posted by Planet Sand. The exact format has not been made yet, but will be posted soon. Look for the rules and displacement breakdown is under the Planet Sand Drag forums.

ATTENTION!!! For those of you with Stacker Trailers, or trailers that will not clear a 13' 6" underpass, follow these directions:
From I-8 exit on EXIT 30, Ave 29E - Wellton & go NORTH.
Continue NORTH until you see the Circle K, Turn Left (WEST)on Los Angeles Ave. (Los Angeles Ave turns into Old US 80)
Turn Right (NORTH) on Dome Valley Rd. (Then follow the above map)

What do you mean 4stroke breakdown? I thought you guys could run with the banshees now! LOL

will there be a 4 cylinder class? or will it be set up as a pro bracket by dial ins? i only ask because i have two 4 cyl bikes and im sure i cant race both bikes in one class.

I am pretty sure charlie is still having a 4 cyl class.

Charlie is working on the format now with the help of Jeff Guillot. We just returned from the Dome Valley Track, and were very pleased with the changes the track owner had made. There has been a lot more parking added to accomodate the big crowd coming for the Shootout. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Even more parking area will be added by next month. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Test and tune will be thursday from 9am to 5pm..after test and tune we will be doing the bracket trophy race...

How much money do we need to bring. Are they as high priced as the clubs here in Reno? Wen.+ Thurs.+ Fri.+ Sat. nights that = $6,800.00 (at least up here it does).

Do I have to pre regester for this race at Dome Valley ?

Just got back from delivering a filming boom too the track she's looking mighty sweet.I took the boom all the way up to view the grounds they have went threw a lot to make parking good for every one.

No room in the trailers of the local guys headed down and I dont want to take that much time off so I will have to miss it. Sure dont want to tho!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Yes i will be out right now the monorail went in for clean up and tuning and has not been seen. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> My truck was stolen in phoenix sat while me and the family were eating dinner @ steves on central.It was found monday with the tires missing and striped.Its not looking good for heavey duty racing so i will be on hand for some heavy duty drinking.but i will be there.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
