Ive been running U2 for about six months in my 558 predator. Im tired of all the gummy [censored] in my intake ports and my carb. It makes good power its just messy and Im afraid eventually that gum is going to cause damage somewhere.

What a good clean fuel to run with 12.5:1 compression??

I thought about running Vp Red. I can get any VP fuel, Im just not sure whats best for this compression?

Appreciate any help you can give!

VP Red would be great with that compression, it burns clean and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

if your not lookin for the most power, mixing 93 and 110 might be your best bet if you want to get away from the gumminess of the other stuff, you also have to remember that the higher octane fuels don't have all kinds of detergents and chemicals as the normal stuff you get at a gas station, when running any of the different fuels you really can't expect for them to be the cleanest there will always be a compromise

What the jetting like for VP red. Fairly easy? What the perfect plug condition look like with VP Red?

VP Red has VP's tattletale additives, I think yellow for too lean. My plugs look normal, clean on the porcelain and a faint light brown color ring down inside the plug body where the metal meets the porcelain.

VP Red isn't oxygenated so it doesn't take larger than normal jets. It won't produce as much power as oxygenated fuel but it's good race gas at a good price and doesn't gum things up.

I ran Sunoco 110 in my raptor with 12.5:1 and never left anything behind! Burned real clean and ran great as well! Plus it was alot cheaper the vp red!

I run VP 118 on my 12.5:1.

I've been running rockettbrand 110 in my pred which isn't oxygenated and it works damn good it just gives a slightly lean plug color when tuned right, for oxygenated fuel there is alot of good brands out there it's just a matter of how much percentage you want and what you want to pay, there isn't that many oxygenated fuels that don't leave some kind of residue, just my .02 cents

What kind of power difference is there from VP red to a oxygenated fuel like U4..?

Most people say 2 or so hp between the fuels. If you have to purge/flush the system anyway I would run metahnol.

methanol makes alot of power
