I am aggravated at some of the accusations made by specific builders towards our bikes, we work hard to run the numbers and we have attended all of the Planet Sand Drags to run against the best.

I want the specific builders who keep running there mouth to show up at the AVI and prove they aren't all talk. All I hear is what they CAN run or are GONNA run, they are always trying to discredit our bikes. I am tired of it, see ya at the AVI!!

Not calling anyone out inparticular, just the people that like to type and talk but never show up.

Dan is a Great Builder. I'm sure that he is up for a good challenge from anyone that wants to step up and make one. There are some that can give him a run to. I'd like to see that race no doubt.

I was a little shocked when I first saw the comment, and to think it came from Dan.......so we talked, and come to find out Dan's post was directed toward "builders" who in his opinion, "talk the big talk" on the net but don't come to the races and back up what they say.

I think he has just had one to many customers tell him....."well...when I talked to (insert builder name here), they said......."

I know I was ready to pull a "Scotty" and get out the skeet shooting icons, and make a good acceptance to the challenge, but after talking to him I guess I will have to remember that he doesn't get on line often enough to get the feel of "how to type something to come out like you intended it to"........NOT that I have a handle on it either....lol

I'm sure that there is a lot of he said she said by customers as well as others. Maby at the next Planet Sand Race some of this can get worked out. I haven't ever been to one but the way I undersatnd it there are a lot of top name builders there. Maby Next year I can go and watch the fun.

I guess Im probably in the wrong and having never even met Dan may not have a clue what Im talking about. But having never known him to come on the internet and talk crap to anyone I would find it hard to believe that was his intentions. Secondly, Dan has been the fastest guy to show up at just about every race he has attended for the past 7+ years. We all know how big of a bullseye he has to have on his back and more often than not he gets it done. I dont know Dan but from what Ive seen....if a motor says A&S on the side you better have your I's dotted and your T's crossed to out run it.

The phrase is actually coined "put up, or shut up." Let me try and explain a la Calvin Pollett vernacular.

Because really, if you shut up, before you put up...why would you shut up? There is no reason to shut up...because well, there is no reason to. So, you would have to first put something up, otherwise people keep flapping their gums like a bulldog with its head out of the window driving down the US-101 on a clear and sunny afternoon.

Anyway, since I'll probably never beat Dan on any of his personal bikes, I might as well get a lesson in when I can. Right?

As far as the races, my first trip to Planet Sand was the 2007 Planet Sand race and yes it's worth the drive there to see these guys fly and set world records.Thanks guys for your skills

What cracks me up is the confidence level of the beginning statement for this thread. Anyone and everyone can have a bad race day, even Dan Hull. There are alot of great builders out there and it can be anyone's race on any given weekend. To me, this thread was started as a vehicle to bash and degrade 1 particular builder and nothing more. I have alot more respect for people who can race and win and be humble about it. It just seems like some race teams think that they are above everyone else. It thrills me to see people get humbled once in awhile. If that rubs a few A&S guys raw, please accept my humble apology.

everyone that raced did a good job.

I took the opportunity to talk to Dan and he seemed to be a humble guy IMO. Seemed liked his bikes were having some tuning issues but thats the way it goes at times.

A&S took 3 of the 6 tripple classes with there 102 spread bore triple...

I can direct you to probably 20 places in here that I have said ANY cylinder can be made to perform well, (mine or someone else's), some cylinders take more work than others, but any can be made to perform....(now I can show you probably 21 places....lol).....but I don't remember ever calling "DANS 3.18 BULLSHET".

I think this thread was in pour taste, but it is anyone's right to post what they want as long as it is within the rules of the forum. The triple that ran the 3.18 is a FAST triple, I can't imagine I would have ever said otherwise, and it ran very well last weekend.........period!
