I would think on a drag Banshee with some hp that these would help alot. Has anyone had a et gain in the eigth mile? Does everyone on pavement run these? I have two Banshees (1-5 overrides) in the sixes and am fixing to try one.
thanks

when running an override at all i say it it almost mandatory to have a lockup. The lockup obviously makes it a lot harder to pull your clutch, but since you have an override you usually arent using it, and the lockup improves your hook up so much in the clutch plates, i dont race asphault, but i would say that if your geting good traction all the way through the track, that a lock up clutch will help dramaticly

With the lockup you can run lighter spring. My clutch pull is much easier. I dont know if a lock up would be good on a asphalt bike. the little slippage you get may be saving other parts. If the clutch doesnt slip something else might give

thats why you adjust the lockup to allow a little slip

You can adjust the clutch slip with the clutch springs. Changing the weight on the lockup determines when it locks up. It uses centrifugal force, the more massive the object, the greater the force; the greater the speed of the object, the greater the force; and the less distance from the center, the greater the force.

you use different springs to adjust slip off the line. the lighter the springs, the more slip you will have off the line. for banshees, i think most people use 3 heavy and 3 stock. some use 3 stock. just depends on how you like it setup. the weight on the arms are for how mush pressure is needed to keep the clutch locked up.

Has anyone that runs pavement actually seen a et gain after install? We ran the same clutches for two years without the lockup but have been told recently that it might help.
thanks

mostly they are for bikes that the clutch slips alot....we run a clutch a year w/a lock up. So if your getting 2 years without one then you are prob. ok without it. We get like 3-4 weekends w/o a lock-up on the clutch
