[quote=Calvin Pollet]Someone else suggested a different cc breakdown for the twin 2 strokes at 775cc but I didn't understand what that did to the classes that bracketed 775cc. Was it just adding a class to split the other 2? Some people want to lump the 775 non-spread class with the 825 spread bore class. I don't really care for it. There are a lot of cougars running around now, and they could easily have their own class. Plus some of the non-spread motors jump into that class. It would seem unlogical (from an economic standpoint as well as limiting the excitement from a spectator point of view) to eliminate one of the fastest twin cylinder classes which also has a high number of entries. The fact that the 775 class is one of the most popular classes with the most entries is another reason not to lump them in with the bigger bikes. It is like taking your favorite kid and kickin him in the balls... *Steps off soap box*

The 825 class is the first twin class where the spreads are allowed. Not in Calvin's proposal for PSDRA Local and National classes, the spreads can run in any class after 650cc. That's why I was asking if the 775cc class would be the same, spreads and non spreads running together the same as the other PSDRA classes above 650cc. I am not too familiar with the snomo spread stuff. As a guy without a Banshee, it's kind of goofy that the twin and triple classes were structured around Yamaha motor measurements. If I understand correctly from talking with the snowmo guys, Artic Cat and Rotax were classified as spread bores in the past even though they run with the exact same bore spread as when they left the factory. Compared to a Yamaha, their cylinders measure further apart but compared to their original stock cylinder measurements, the aftermarket cylinders aren't spread. From Calvin's proposed PSDRA Local and National classes, he's suggesting that we retire the Yamaha-based ruler for all bore distance measurements above 650cc. I have no idea if the times for the Artic Cat and Rotax motors are competitive with the 650cc and up Yamahas so allowing them to run in the same classes could be the spider inviting the fly for dinner...
