and another bad thing about the timing issue , i let them borrow crimp connections to fix that junk in the tower. yes charlie smith that would be good if ol ryan could set the secret timing on the motor. i dont know where he had it set ,but it fo sho made that mo fo run.
I don't know about the junk in the tower......But the times should have never been put up as a record. I told everyone at the drivers meeting that the times wouldn't stand until we got the guard beams fixed. I am sorry for the trouble that we had. Thats why I spend the money to get Frank from Portatree to attend the race. That way if anythig comes up we have someone to fix the problem. I don't know any other track that does that.
the times shouldnt have been put up, I didnt challenge what days they were ran. Sorry for not catching them sooner, I know nitrobaby spent alot of effort/money trying to get us good equipment and even hired in professional help from portatree every year. It wasnt cheap and not fair to say its junk.
I belive those time slips are accurate. All of the numbers on them make sense. I had some from when the beams were off and it had me at a very high reaction time (0.900 or so) and low 60 ft (1.2 or so) on a 421 in a stock chassis. It said I ran a 4.01; which the bike wasn't capable of doing then. The only problem that I could foresee is that if someone actually cut a perfect light, their reaction time wouldn't look as bogus; but the 60 ft still would. Is that not how the lights work?
