We are trying to put a race together before the AVI Race in the west.

If everything works out we will announce the date and location soon.

Im now sure exactly who thinks LA is in the East, but its not even close to the heart of 99% of the East coast racers!! A Kentucky Shoot out, or a Newtown Show Down, would be a big thanks to all the guys that support this site and its race's when we all travel are A** off!!

You just had a race in the east...or do you mean something like in NC or NY?

There are actually more racers in the east due to all the tracks, but us slower west coast guys still like to play.

Arizona or California, we are already doing one in Nevada. I dont want to say until it's finished, looking at all the opportunities.

Further east is open, have someone send me a PM who maybe interested in holding a east event, I am sure we wouldnt have to pinch Jeff to hard to be there.

Yeah, the Louisiana "east coast" race took us true east coasters 21 hours to get there! So something closer would be great smile

I heard that. If the race was any further east than LA I doubt you would see any west coasters out there. Shoot, we can make a 20 hour trip without a sweat. Try a 35 hour trip my good man.

Straigh through even!

Us west coast guys don't really get a whole lot of opportunities to race. We aren't quiet as blessed as the folks on the other side of the country.

Damn Sonny.. Straight through by yourself we need to hire you on our crew.. grin Its amazing what you will do when the adrenaline is pumping. I made it from Baltimore,Md to sacamento,ca in 2 days before because I had to be home.

Dome valley would be cool but anything would be nice to use for tuning before avi.

you guys have glamis, sand mt, and pismo.

i play in a sand box on holiday weekend compared to you west coast.

btw has any body ever considered West Michigan Dragway?
it has the best layout for spectators imo and has big score(time)boards.

I would say there needs to be a PS race in either KY,at little sandy or Sheltons,or in Michigan at WMSD or Ionia.

Virginia should also strongly be considered.

these are true east coast tracks.Something needs to be going on out this way.

All the tracks listed are top notch and can handle alot of people, there are hotels close by along with restaurants and all that.

Louisiana is always gonna be the big one,and lets keep it that way.

I think if we get creative enough, you can keep everyone happy..the AVI race out west, and a east coast race out here, and have louisiana in the middle.

regardless of what goes on,people still have to drive considerable distances to make these races.

Now that to me is a very funny post.... Where oh where do i start..
1)NSDA... A Very big list of race's that are TOP NOTCH...6-8 Races a year
2)ASDA... Still has his events going...
3)Dome Valley.... Always a good track...
4)Fast Track Crew... Running scheduled events...
5)Avanl... A VERY hard hooking, well running events, with a good schedule..
6)Atoka... still a good pull, but much closer to the west...

I know im missing a few even... Im not sure where your chance of not racing much is, but i would have a field day with those tracks...

Glad you find it humorous, because the guys in California don't. I see people complaining that they had to travel 20 hours to the biggest race of the year. Well, the guys in California have to travel a minimum of 12 hours if we expect to race more than 3 times a year.

1)NSDA is a good organization who's next race is in...5 months...at a track that has been shut down for over a year. Even so, of their 6 scheduled races for the year, only 1 was in California.

2)ASDA has events out here? Really...could you provide me a link...

3)DV is a good track, but a little hard to get information on when the site doesn't have any scheduled races other than "4x4" racing.

4)Again...link?

5)Avenal is ran twice a year. You get two passes, then the races start. They water the track for the cars, but never for the bikes. They run us first thing in the morning, and last thing in the evening.

6)How is Oklahoma a west coast track? Not sure how you figure a track that is 1700 miles away is a logical track to go racing at.

I think if we could get our track up here in Sacramento done it would be AWESOME! It would be Central west coast. We could have guys from So cal, Arizona, along with all the wacky Oregonions, and Washington bikes from the north.....

my vote is for SHELTONS DIRT DRAGS,its in the heart of kentucky...not to far east, north,or south.this track could easily hold an event the size of the one in LA.

We would be interested in holding a planet sand event. We set our track up to meet and exceed all planet sand track requirements we have 40ft wide lanes,1000ft shut down. and plenty of parking and easy access just to name a few things. If you might be interested Charlie just send me a message and I will get intouch with you.

THANKS,
James Shelton

Could mark down x150 for all the locals that don`t get on any net forums.

Shelton`s & TOP could get it done - & done right !

Country location is nearly as well prositoned as you can get - further west than the east coast tracks. Further North than LA - further south than Michigan, as the Mauks noted.

I will second that greatly. It has jus as much or MORE parking than planetsand. It is definatly a awsome track for sure. It looks like it is a little shorter drive for you than it is lousiana. And for the California folks it looks like it is around 23hrs for them. It is a reasonable drive for everyone. From Virginia about the same 20hrs or so. It would be very stupid on your part to not even consider it. JMO

No, but the pics I have seen of the parking at PlanetSand, doesen't look as big as what we have here at our local track (Offroad Ranch). I will see forsure how many acres of parking there is. I wanna say at least 40 to 60 Acres.

Norfolk or WMSD is certainly not on the East coast.

If your planning to have an East Coast event, Virginia should be strongly considered.

The idea was to have a West Coast, East Coast and keep Gilbert as the race in the central US.

Atleast thats the way I interpreted it. confused

And the idea of having one in the MidWest Area, is so the people from NC, NY, VA and states like that wont have a 30+ hour drive if its on the west coast. If you hold one in the east coast, the west coast will be mad, and if you hold one on the west coast then the eastcoast will be mad. If you have it in the middle of the US, then east and west coasters will drive about the same distance.

Nebraska Is 22 hours away from where I am in North Carolina, Gilbert LA, is only 14 hrs. How is this closer for us on the East Coast?

To start with, I also think we NEED a race on the East Coast....but with only a 14 hour drive, IMO, you really don't have a lot of room to bitch about the drive to La.....lol

lolI never "bitched" about the 14 hours to La, I simply said that 22 hours was not closer than Gilbert,, I'm 14 from Gilbert, but the further you go up the East Coast like, NY, PA, and VA, the drive for them grows, So if PS is trying to spread out the Big Races, so everyone will have the opportunity to attend a Full week of racing, IMO I don't feel as if a Nebraska, Being a Midwestern state, would be fair to the East coast. smile

I am glad this post went in an open direction, it has shown me the interest and potential of where we can go with our events. I am working on the PSDRA Forum as we speak and have many ideas to help tracks grow and to create NEW and future events for Planet Sand in the East and other areas of the country.

This particular event will still be held in the west, I have choosen a facility to host this race, to be announced in a new thread.

west cost don't have tracks i have allot of friends in the west cost and even in the middle of the country that go racing every month. tracks r going away every where , I'm in SC and i don't no of any tracks close buy every one has to travel to race . it would be cool to have a big race closer to the east cost there is allot of atv racers from mane to Florida that race but i bet only 5% if that go to a ps race it would be nice to get all the east cost guys together 4 a big race west cost have avi , the middle of the u.s has Louisiana , the east side needs a race i vote 4 Shelton's or Newton come on west cost guys yall have a big race let some one else have fun to lol at least yall guys got dunes and hills to race at all the time lol theres nothing here only thing you can do is break out the 4X4 and go trail riding and that sucks lol
