General Information
WELCOME TO THE LITTLE SAHARA
RECREATION AREA
| We are trying to make this a nicer place for
everyone to enjoy. Here are a few things you should be aware of. 1. We charge a DAILY-USE FEE. This fee expires at 2:00 p.m. the day after it was purchased. This fee is charged 24 hours a day, year-round. If the pay station is closed, please pay at the self-pay tubes located in the visitor center parking lot. 2. White Sands, Oasis and Jericho campgrounds have quiet hours between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Loud music, noisy behavior and noisy OHVs speeding through the campground loops may result in fines or eviction from the area. 3. All campground loops are one-way roads with posted speed limit signs. These regulations also pertain to OHVs. 4. State laws require the use of whip flags on all OHVs, including motorcycles, when operated at Little Sahara and people under the age of 18 must wear approved helmets. 5. Do not break, cut, or burn green trees. If green tree limbs are found in your camp, you will receive a citation and could be fined up to $150.00. PROTECT YOUR TREES. 6. We have provided dumpsters for trash. Please clean your area before leaving. We also have trash bags available. Ask any BLM employee or stop at the visitor center. There is no charge for these bags. 7. White Sands and Jericho campgrounds have fenced areas reserved for play. No OHVs are allowed inside these sand-play areas. If you notice anyone riding inside these areas, please notify us. A citation will be issued. 8. We have law enforcement officers in the area all weekend. If you have any problems, please report it to any BLM employee. After hours please come to the trailers behind the visitor center anytime of the night to report problems or accidents. 9. No firearms or fireworks are allowed. 10. Drinking and driving do not mix. Please ride safely. |
Thank You For Your Cooperation!
